Building a scalable design system for enterprise banking.
We worked for one of India’s largest banks to reimagine their corporate banking app, aiming to deliver a seamless, modern, and unified experience across iOS and Android. With a target of achieving at least a 4.2-star rating on app stores, we focused on creating a scalable design system that balanced native component usage with brand consistency. Navigating through complex stakeholder environments and multiple feedback loops, we refined the design through several iterations—ultimately building an intuitive and future-ready app interface tailored for high-value corporate users.

Building a Scalable Design System
Designing for one of India’s largest banking institutions required much more than creating screens. The challenge was to establish a scalable design system capable of supporting complex corporate banking workflows while delivering a consistent experience across iOS and Android platforms. Guided by best of Human Interface Guidelines and modern mobile UX principles, we carefully defined typography, color systems, components, form patterns, interaction states, and accessibility standards. Every element was designed to balance native platform familiarity with IndusInd’s brand identity, ensuring users could navigate critical financial tasks with confidence. The resulting design system accelerated product development, simplified collaboration between design and engineering teams, and created a strong foundation for future product growth.

Reimagining Banking Onboarding
Banking onboarding is often associated with lengthy forms, complex terminology, and unnecessary friction. Our goal was to challenge that norm by creating an onboarding experience that felt remarkably simple without compromising compliance, security, or regulatory requirements. Every screen, field, and interaction was carefully evaluated to retain only what truly mattered, eliminating redundancy wherever possible. Information was broken into clear, manageable steps, helping users progress confidently through the journey while reducing cognitive load. The result was an onboarding experience that felt intuitive, modern, and effortless setting a new benchmark for how corporate banking products can welcome users into a complex financial ecosystem.

Challenge
One of India’s largest banks needed a corporate banking app that felt as trustworthy and modern as the institution itself but the product had grown without a unified design system. Different screens used different components, spacing, and interaction patterns depending on which team built them. For a BFSI product serving high-value corporate users, that inconsistency slowed releases, complicated design-to-engineering handoff, and risked eroding confidence in critical financial workflows.
Solution
Kormoan led an enterprise UX design and design systems engagement across both iOS and Android. We defined the foundational layer first typography, color systems, component library, form patterns, interaction states, and accessibility standards before touching individual screens, so every future feature could build on a consistent base. Onboarding was rebuilt as a guided, step-based flow that preserved every compliance and security requirement while removing unnecessary friction. The result is a scalable design system supporting faster, more consistent corporate banking app design across the bank’s full mobile app design roadmap.
